About the Client

Positive Tracks is a nonprofit organization that helps young people turn physical activity into a force for social change. Through athletic challenges, fundraising, coaching, and youth leadership resources, Positive Tracks empowers young adults to support causes they care about while building confidence, community, and real-world impact.

The Challenge

Positive Tracks needed a website that felt energetic, approachable, and action-oriented while clearly explaining its mission and programs. The site needed to appeal to young people, donors, volunteers, partners, and community members, with clear pathways to start a challenge, get involved, donate, or learn more about the organization’s impact.

Key objectives included:

  • Creating a fun, energetic website that reflected the personality and mission of Positive Tracks
  • Using playful animations and interactive elements to make the experience feel engaging and youthful
  • Making it easy for users to learn how Positive Tracks challenges work
  • Providing clear pathways for donations, fundraising, volunteering, and other ways to give
  • Organizing a large amount of program, impact, and resource content in a way that felt approachable
  • Ensuring the site performed well across desktop and mobile devices

My Approach

I built a custom WordPress theme using Sage 10 and Advanced Custom Fields, creating a flexible editing experience that allowed the Positive Tracks team to manage pages, calls to action, impact content, and program information without relying on a page builder. The site was designed to feel lively and interactive while still being easy to update and maintain.

My work included:

  • Building a fully custom WordPress theme using Sage 10
  • Creating flexible content modules with Advanced Custom Fields
  • Developing playful animations and interactive elements throughout the site
  • Building reusable sections for programs, impact stories, calls to action, and resource content
  • Supporting donation, fundraising, and giving pathways throughout the user experience
  • Organizing content so different audiences could quickly find the information most relevant to them
  • Optimizing the site for responsive performance across desktop and mobile devices
