About the Client

Hollis is a technical diving equipment brand with a WordPress multisite network supporting multiple regional websites. The client already had an established web presence, but needed ongoing development support to improve how their sites shared information, managed store data, and kept content consistent across the network.

The Challenge

Hollis needed a better way to manage store information across multiple sites without requiring the same updates to be made manually in several places. With five sites in the multisite network, store data needed to stay accurate, consistent, and easy to maintain across different regional experiences.

Key objectives included:

  • Supporting updates and improvements to an existing WordPress multisite network
  • Creating a more reliable way to manage shared store information across multiple sites
  • Reducing the need for duplicate manual updates across each regional website
  • Keeping store data accurate and consistent throughout the multisite network
  • Improving backend workflows so content and store information could be maintained more efficiently
  • Ensuring updates worked smoothly across all five connected sites

My Approach

I worked within the existing WordPress multisite setup to improve how store information was managed and shared across the network. To make the process more reliable, I created a central source of store data and built a custom API endpoint that each site could use to pull in the latest information automatically.

My work included:

  • Supporting development updates within an existing WordPress multisite environment
  • Creating a centralized hub for managing shared store information
  • Building a custom API endpoint to make store data available across the multisite network
  • Setting up daily cron jobs so all five sites could automatically sync the latest store information
  • Reducing manual data entry by allowing each site to update from the same trusted source
  • Improving consistency across regional sites by keeping shared store content aligned
  • Maintaining the existing site structure while adding more efficient backend functionality
